These are a few designs for the new short I’m working on, I wanted to make something that was fun and something that had relatively few elements so I could spend enough time on each part to make it look good. Anyway, Its not high concept, if anything its a ‘dance’ piece, dance feels like its the wrong word though, I’m thinking far more about figurative sculpture, its all very closely related I guess. In short its a body moving through space with music, here’s hoping it goes well. (Also the 3d still is just a screengrab, its missing cloth simulation and displacement/textures so it will look more finished)

Boards
Hey there, I’m sitting in an internet cafe right now, we waited a month for the man who was supposed to connect up our internet to come round and say it wasn’t possible, so maybe next month we might be connected with a different provider.  Anyway, bla bla bla who cares,  I’m going to post a few things now that Ive been meaning to post for a while and to start off here’s a drawing i did at the National Film School a week or so ago that i quite liked, I think its a step in a good direction for me, gestures aren’t my strong point so I was pleased with this one.

RoboComp

Hello there, long time no post, I’ve been busy graduating, working and moving house but I’m settled in now and can get on with life for a little while with any luck. One thing I’ve been working on is the robothespian rig 3.0 for engineered arts. They have built the actual robot and figured out how to connect it to a 3d app via python and it was my job to bring the rig up to date from the one I built last year.  Check out the Engineered Arts site for more info about Robothespian and their other projects.

ps. I should be able to put some more posts soon once I get the material cleared

05I think this one I’m most pleased with so far, its the windmills in the background that make it for me.

04One more to add to the pile, I bounce between being pleased and wanting to keep working on it but it  hink a day’s rest might give me fresh perspective.

Colour key #3So here’s # 3, getting worse i think, i just wasn,t as confident with this one from the start. I think it benefits from cropping out most of the detail as below, but then doesn’t tell the story. Ah well, onward.
