Heres the first proper render… sort of.  I have quite a lot of tweaking and things to do still but it gives a prety good idea of the mood.

I have recently been introduced to the work of  Laurie Anderson and am strangely hypnotized by her piece ‘O Superman’ heres my scribble of her.

Just  a quick word… I’ve finished! (animation anyway) heres a frame from one pass that I quite liked, now I just need to composit it and invent some copyright free music, oh and a title.

This is a render test I started last night to see how closely I could match a colour key I made a while ago  using Maya with no paint or manual retouches, just render passes and compositing… (Note i wasn’t trying to match the model so the geomitry is a bit low rent) Its all rendered using mentalray with bog standard shaders, I used 4 passes and saved them as 32 bit .exr files and comped in nuke, I like it as a test, I might do another…

I cant decide what I think of this, theres something odd with the glowy rocks, nice to be using colour again thought… This image seems to really suffer on some monitors, right now its looking way to dark, but on my other monityr too bright… hmmm
